Absolute conditions to avoid:
- Platelet dysfunction syndrome - Platelet function disorders are bleeding disorders in which the platelets do not form a strong blood clot. People with platelet function disorders tend to bleed or bruise more easily. They may have a normal number of platelets or a low platelet count. Their platelet size may be small, normal or large.
- Critical thrombocytopenia - Dangerous internal bleeding can occur when your platelet count falls below 10,000 platelets per microliter. Though rare, severe thrombocytopenia can cause bleeding into the brain, which can be fatal.
- Hemodynamic instability - Hemodynamic instability occurs when there's abnormal or unstable blood pressure, which can cause inadequate blood flow to your organs.
- Septicaemia - Sepsis is a life-threatening reaction to an infection. It happens when your immune system overreacts to an infection and starts to damage your body's own tissues and organs. You cannot catch sepsis from another person. Sepsis is sometimes called septicaemia or blood poisoning.
